Mass Effect Andromeda developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The story opens after a 600-year journey to the Andromeda galaxy, as the crew begins searching for a new home for humanity.
From the opening moments, there’s an immediate sense of mystery and peril as the human colony ship encounters a massive, world-ruining space anomaly that throws their plans into disarray. Mass Effect: Andromeda is an action role-playing game in which the player takes control of either Scott or Sara Ryder from a third-person perspective. Both Ryders' appearances and first names can be determined by the player. The appearance of their father, Alec, is automatically adjusted based on the appearance of the Ryder twins. Upon beating the game, a New Game+ is unlocked, which allows the player to restart the game with certain bonuses and switch to playing as the other Ryder, if desired. Players can also choose to continue playing with their existing character and complete unfinished missions.
The combat in Mass Effect: Andromeda is probably the best in the series and certainly the most successful thing in this package, which in itself is kind of a wild thing to say about a Mass Effect game. The game encourages players to keep moving during combat with large, open battlefields and enemies that attack from all angles,[10] but also allows for both aggressive and defensive strategies. Your character last name Ryder, first name, gender, ethnicity and appearance up to you is one of the specialists on the Human ark spaceship Hyperion. No word on how many of the 20,000 colonists aboard are telephone sanitisers or advertising executives, though.
One of the more satisfying things about the way Andromeda plays out comes as you travel from planet to planet, solving a bunch of local problems that eventually makes way for you to establish an outpost, at which point a bunch of pre-fab settlement buildings drop out of the sky and you've got a nice little base where before there was only alien wilderness.
The backdrops are amazing and some of the space depictions are breathtaking — you really do feel like you’re in a different galaxy among the stars. Standing on the bridge of your spaceship for the first-time is an awe-inspiring experience.
If you’ve got any interest at all in science fiction, Andromeda is a good game. However, for those who’ve been waiting five years for another Mass Effect adventure, I don’t think it will be good enough.
