Google selects Android app and game nominees for the 2017 Play Awards

Google announced the nominations for its Play Store awards about a month ago. As part of the Google I/O festivities, Google held a ceremony to announce the winners of the 2nd annual Google Play Awards, putting the spotlight on some of Google Play’s hottest titles from the past year. As I/O 2017 winds down, Google has now revealed the winners.

The 2017 finalists included 57 apps in 12 categories, from Standout Indie to Best App and Game. The finalists and winners can be all found in the Play Store, and I suggest you check them all out. Winners were chosen based on quality of the app, user experience and ratings.

Google declared the Language app Memrise, the best app of past year. Similarly, the best game is Transformers: Forged to Fight. Here is the list of Google Play Award Winners 2017:
  • Best TV Experience: Red Bull TV (free)
  • Best VR Experience: Virtual Virtual Reality ($8.99)
  • Best AR Experience: Woorld (free)
