Today, Google is launching the first new version of Toontastic for Android and iOS since it acquired the company. With this update, Toontastic is going 3D, though not in the first-person shooter kind of way. Toontastic is a powerful and playful way to create interstellar adventures, breaking news reports, video game designs, family photo albums, and anything else you might imagine.

To get started, you simply pick how many acts you want your story to have, either from three presets or by building your own story arc. After that, you pick your characters (and you can also draw your own, of course) and start animating your story by moving the characters around and doing the voiceovers as you do so.
To access all the creative options, parents need to allow the app access to the camera roll and microphone. To get inspired, kids can watch storytelling tips and see examples of what others have created in the app or on the partner website.

The app has an “Idea Lab” section that has example animations so kids can understand what the application is capable of.
