FC Fluminense 17/18 Logo Kits

The club was founded on July 21, 1902 by the sons of Carioca aristocrats, being led by Oscar Cox, a Brazilian sportsman, in the bairro of Flamengo, a direct contrast between the aristocratic founders and the modest ground it was founded on. Cox was elected as the club's first president. Fluminense has been state champions on 31 occasions, second only to Flamengo with 33. The team has been national champions four times, most recently in 2012, and won the Copa do Brasil in 2007.

Fluminense play in the club colours of maroon and green striped shirts with white trim, white shorts and socks for home fixtures. The away kit is a white shirt, maroon shorts and green socks. The colours have been donned by some well known names in the game such as Roberto Rivellino who was known for his powerful left footed shot and ranked as one of the top Brazilian footballers of all time, Carlos Alberto Torres who captained Brazil to victory in the 1970 World Cup and Romario de Souza Faria known as Romario one of Fluminense's most prolific strikers in the 1990s, who helped Brazil to win the 1994 World Cup.
